Art’s healing powers are at play
in the colorful, whimsical envi-
ronment designed for young
patients and their families at the
new Kosair Children’s Medical
Center in Brownsboro,

Through a partnership with the
Kentucky Museum of Art and
Craft, Louisville artists made
original works for the facility’s
public spaces, including a sculp-
ture in metal and glass by Brook
White and Bryan Holden, a
mixed-media wall installation
by Tom Pfannerstill, and a fan-
ciful steel playground fence
by Holden and Shaun Ludwick.
Kids with a connection to the
center took part as well, working
with ceramist John M cCathy
and painter Shayne Hull to cre-
ate two wall pieces.
